Dr.Ronald González

I hold a degree in Psychology and a Bachelor’s in the Teaching of Psychology from the University of Costa Rica. I am certified in EMDR and specialized in individual Cognitive Behavioral Psychology.

I offer sessions in Spanish and English, both in-person and online. This allows me to support people living in Costa Rica as well as those abroad or those who prefer virtual sessions.

EMDR therapy for trauma

In EMDR therapy, the focus is on reprocessing traumatic experiences to reduce their emotional weight and support a healthier adaptation.

Cognitive behavioral therapy

In cognitive behavioral therapy, the focus is on the relationship between what you think, feel, and do. We work to identify automatic thoughts and beliefs that increase anxiety, fear, or low mood, and replace them with more realistic and helpful perspectives.

It is one of the most scientifically supported approaches in psychology and is especially effective for anxiety, depression, and difficulties managing stress.

Practical behavior-change tools

In behavioral work, we focus on the role of learning and habits in your daily life. We review routines, avoidance behaviors, and patterns that maintain your distress, and design concrete steps to change them.

This approach is ideal when you want to modify specific behaviors, create healthier habits, and sustain change over time.

Individual therapy is a safe and confidential space to talk about what you are going through, without judgment. We work together on your levels of anxiety and stress, the way you talk to yourself, and the situations that currently feel overwhelming. Throughout the process, you gain clarity about your values, your priorities, and how you want to live your life, while developing emotional resources to cope better with everyday challenges.
